Jameson Health System is exceptionally pleased to expand their orthopedics team with the addition of board certified and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon, Kenneth G. Molinero Jr., D.O.
Dr. Molinero is currently seeing new patients at the Jameson Hospital South Campus, 1000 South Mercer Street, New Castle, PA. Opening in August, his office will be located in Jameson Surgical Specialties at Nesbitt Place, the health system’s new luxury medical suite in Neshannock Township, 26 Nesbitt Road, New Castle, PA. The doctor is seeing patients for all general orthopedic needs including new fractures and dislocations, bone infections, upper and lower extremity joint pain and arthritic complaints, sports medicine related conditions and injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome as well as other nerve compression disorders of the extremities. Dr. Molinero brings a unique set of subspecialized orthopedic surgical skills to our region with fellowships in Orthopedic Trauma and Limb Reconstruction.
Dr. Molinero was born and raised in Pittsburgh. Recently, after six years of practice in Midland, Texas, Dr. Molinero made the decision to bring his training and expertise back to his Western PA roots. “My ultimate goal is getting people back to where they were before their injury. The new ER/OR at Jameson will provide the tools I need to do that. It was key in my decision to bring my wife and four girls back home to Western Pennsylvania,” comments Dr. Molinero.
Dr. Molinero attended medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA and completed his Orthopedic Internship at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, PA. Dr. Molinero completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at Millcreek Community Hospital, UPMC Hamot Hospital and Shriner’s Hospital in Erie, PA and UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Molinero then completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and went on to complete a Limb Reconstruction and Computer Assisted Fellowship at Monash University Medical Centre at the Melbourne Centre for Limb Reconstruction in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Molinero is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a clinical faculty for the AO North American Musculoskeletal Trauma Foundation, an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and was a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery for the Texas Tech University School of Medicine while he was practicing in Texas. Dr. Molinero has helped publish numerous articles and has given presentations and lectures on a local and national level.
Dr. Molinero is one of five full-time employed physicians joining the health system this year. “We have a five-year strategic plan for physician recruitment with a goal to bring twenty new physicians to our region to be full-time affiliated with Jameson Health System. Orthopedic surgery is a specialty where our communities’ needs have increased,” comments Patty Eppinger, Director of Medical Staff Services at Jameson Health System. “Adding Dr. Molinero and Dr. Steven Hand, who joins us full-time in August, to our current team of orthopedic surgeons strongly positions us to serve our region for all levels of orthopedic surgical care.”
