Jameson Hospital Joins With The State Offering "Freedom From Smoking" Program
New Castle, PA ·April 25, 2012 - If you or a loved one is ready to quit using tobacco, help is available. Jameson Hospital in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Northwest Pennsylvania Tobacco Control Program are offering a free six-session Quit Smoking Program. The first session begins next Monday, April 30th.

Jameson Hospital is making it easy for patients and physician offices to schedule and secure same-day and next-day medical imaging appointments offered at new, flexible hours. By dialing the health system’s Centralized Scheduling line at (724) 656-4220, an appointment can be pre-registered and scheduled at any Jameson Health System facility, many of which are now offering extended evening, weekday and Saturday appointments.
Sessions Beginning at Jameson Hospital for Nationally Recognized KidShape Program
The Jameson Hospital Community Education Department and The Highmark Foundation have teamed to present KidShape, a nationally recognized family-based weight management program designed with hands-on activities for children ages six to thirteen and their parents. Activities are fun and promote healthy behavior changes like increasing activity and choosing more nutritious snacks, drinks and meals. There is no fee for participants.

Jameson Hospital and The Moraine Trails Council have joined forces to create a Medical Careers Exploration Program for teenagers. The program is open to students in grades 9-12 attending school in Lawrence County, and will meet once a month during the school year. HOPE is an interactive wellness and lifestyle improvement program that focuses on healthy choices to improve bone health and prevent or manage osteoporosis including nutrition, exercise, stress management, supplementation and other lifestyle habits. HOPE takes a comprehensive look at bone health and osteoporosis prevention through a combination of educational lectures, self-study, goal setting components and group exercise using stretch bands.
