Jameson Hospital Director of Nursing, Donna Cochran Honored as American College of Cardiology Pennsylvania State Liaison

Donna Cochran, RN, BSN, Jameson Hospital Director of Nursing, has been appointed as an American College of Cardiology Pennsylvania State Liaison. 

In her new role with the American College of Cardiology (ACC), Ms. Cochran will serve as a state representative working with the Cardiovascular Team Council and ACC Staff to promote membership, national educational opportunities and energize current members by providing them with opportunities to participate in local activities.  Previously, Donna served as District III Liaison of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Cardiology Executive Council. 

Dr. Conrad Smith, MD, FACC, FSCAI, Medical Director of the Cardiac Catherization Interventional Program at Jameson Hospital and Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC commented, “Donna is incredibly devoted to making the highest quality of cardiovascular care a reality for patients.  She is tireless in her efforts to identify and successfully implement all strategies that will improve patient outcomes.  The Pennsylvania Chapter of the ACC is fortunate to have her in this important position.” Barbara Bernardi, Nurse Executive at Jameson Hospital and Doug Danko, Chief Executive Officer of Jameson Health System echo Dr. Smith’s remarks. “Donna is passionate about cardiac care and is well-deserving of this prestigious position.  She has effectively coordinated clinical services offered at Jameson Hospital with our medical communities and will be equally successful in her ACC state liaison role.”

A four time recipient of the Anne K. and Warren J. Hoye Award given to Jameson Health System employees who design successful and innovative programs that impact the health status and wellness of the community, Ms. Cochran won in 2002 for initiating the Lung Center Program; in 2004 for implementing a new cardiac angioplasty program; in 2010 for developing a new PICC or peripherally inserted central catheter line insertion program; and in 2011 for establishing Vascular Clinic services at Jameson Hospital.  Donna’s reaction to these well-deserved awards, “This is what I do.”  Ms. Cochran has been an employee of Jameson Health System since 1996.
