PELL GRANT
 
Federal Pell Grant
  • Program is funded by the federal government
  • Application is the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid
  • Financial need is determined by the information provided by the student/family
  • Grant not available to applicants who have obtained a bachelor’s degree
  • Student must not be in default of any federal student loan
PHEAA Grant
  • Program is funded by the state of Pennsylvania (PHEAA)
  • Application is the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by PHEAA’s need analysis system
  • Student must not be in default of any federal student loan
  • Student must not have a bachelor’s degree
  • Available to residents of Pennsylvania.  Residency is defined as 12 consecutive months of residency in PA as a non-student prior to filing the FAFSA
PHEAA deadline – May 1st
Notification of award eligibility is made by PHEAA to the student
 
OHIO COLLEGE OPPORTUNITY Grant
  • Program is funded by the state of Ohio
  • Application is the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Ohio College Opportunity Grant need analysis system
  • Student must not be in default of any federal student loan
  • Student must be full-time and cannot have a bachelor’s degree
  • Application must be received by October 1 of the award year
Notification of award eligibility is made by the Ohio Board of Regents to the recipient
